How to install an application on an FSU computer
OIT has some pre-approved software available for you to use in the Software Center, which is available on campus computers for both Windows and macOS.
If the software you are trying to install is not listed in the Software Center, or if you are trying to install something that requires an admin username and password, please email the Helpdesk at webhelpdesk@frostburg.edu or call us at 301-687-7777.
On Windows:
You can find the Software Center by clicking on the start menu and typing in "Software Center".
When you open the Software Center, select "Applications" towards the left and you can check for the software you are trying to install. With the search bar on the right.
You can also check “Installation status” to confirm if a piece of software is already installed or updating.
On macOS:
You can find the Managed Software Center by pressing “Command ⌘ + Space” or by clicking on the magnifying glass in the upper right of your screen. Type in "Managed Software Center" and press Return on your keyboard.
When the Software center opens, make sure that "Software" is selected on the left side and you can check for the software you are trying to install with the search bar on the left.
