Cleaning the surfaces you touch can be a vital way to prevent the spread of viruses and germs, however, cleaning electronics incorrectly can cause damage.
Use only the following cleaners, others may cause damage!
For keyboards, mouses, and other non-screen surfaces:
70% Isopropyl Alcohol/Alcohol Wipes
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
- For monitors and screens:
- Water
- Products labeled for cleaning electronics screens that do not contain acetone
- Device must be powered off or disconnected!
- For keyboards and mouses, if possible, unplug from the computer before cleaning. If not able to unplug from the computer, turn off the computer.
- For laptops, tablets, or computer monitors, turn off the device and unplug from power.
Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items.
- Never spray any liquid directly on the device. Spray on the cloth.
- Cloth should be damp, but not dripping! If there is any liquid dripping from the cloth, right wring it out first.
- Don't use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives.
Don't get moisture into any openings.
Allow device to dry before plugging back in and turning on.
